Nokia chief manager officer (CEO) Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo has assumed many public turn to their mobile phones as the first haven of call for access the internet.

“There is an entire generation of public growing up today that are connecting to the rest of the world solely through their mobile device,” Mr Kallasvuo said.

He asserted that the positive state of mobile phone innovation in countries outside of the west meant that they do not earn the titles of “increasing markets” or “emerging markets” as good progression is being made.

“In most cases today, those labels are out of date,” it was added. Smartphones are central to the accessibility of the internet.

Nokia – the world’s biggest handset maker – has launched the Venture Challenge to deliver mobile phone innovations to parts of the world which can benefit the most.
